New Single - Better Way

After a year of promoting my debut EP Greater Than Self it’s time to start creating and releasing new music again, starting with my new single “Better Way” which officially dropped on September 27th.

Better Way is a song with an inspiring message that speaks to anyone who is unhappy with their current situation and wishes they could change it. It features a mix of acoustic guitar, live drums, and reggae elements that make it like nothing else I’ve put out before.

To celebrate my first music release in over a year, we hosted a single release party in my hometown of San Diego. It was an intimate event that featured live music by myself and Drifting Roots Music, live art, food, and drinks sponsored by Juneshine & Nova Kombucha. Check out a recap video from the night below.

A week after the release I also dropped a music video for the song on Youtube. It’s my favorite music video that I’ve created to date along with my friends at The Video Kitchen. Hope you enjoy it!

Interview with Music Business Dreams Podcast - Growing Your Career by Helping Others

I had a fun as a guest on the Music Business Dreams podcast speaking to my friend Brandon Jackson about growing my music career by helping others. I never thought that by putting on a music conference last year that I would be able to connect with so many awesome people and like-minds.

In this interview we talk about how I’m giving back to the musician community with the Musician Mastery Summit, and how it’s helped my career as an artist. I also I share my thoughts on mindset, rejection, and how leading with value has helped me build new relationships in a brand new industry.

ABOUT I AM

My song I Am speaks to the fact that everyone is a creator. What we speak and think after these two words “I AM” is what we end up creating in life. The more I focus on good feelings, the better vibration I generate and attract into my life.

Killing Me - Official Music Video

Im excited to share the music video for my song "Killing Me"! This is an older song of mine but still one of my favorites. Check out the video below shot by my friend Garret with thevideokitchen.tv:

about killing me

Killing Me speaks to making progress while being thankful for what we’ve already accomplished. I have found that it’s easy to grow complacent in our journey to realizing our dreams, so this song serves as a reminder to the listener of how important staying motivated is. It features a positive message to help us in the face of challenges and helps break the monotony of our day to day routine.

Help It - Official Music Video

My music video for my new song "Help It" is here! This is 1 of 5 brand new songs off my debut EP entitled Greater Than Self officially released August 10th, 2018. Watch it here:

About Help It

Help It is a song about learning to deal with and handle personal loss. It acknowledges the resilience of the human race and our ability to make it through dark and challenging moments.

Each day that we wake up is filled with gifts and they are all around us if we take a second to simply notice them.  With life's pressures being what they are. it's easy to overlook the many blessings that come our way since many of them come in the form of lessons that we experience through our individual and collective trials and tribulations.

I have incredible women in my life so in my lyrics to this record I personify the palm tree that is right outside of my front door in San Diego where I live. They read:

“Hey Ms palm tree its nice to see you so alive, have I mentioned how I admire the way you sway so you don’t break, you make life ok, for today.”

This means a few different things but essentially it iss me recognizing the beauty in nature and mother earth all around us, while at the same time recognizing these strong ladies in my life because I don’t know where I would be without them.

Greater Than Self EP

Friends, is a great pleasure to announce that my debut EP entitled Greater Than Self officially dropped today.

What inspired this body of work is that through life's ups and downs, it can be easy to feel discouraged and want to give up on our dreams at times. I wrote this so that it speaks to having something greater than ourselves to motivate us to follow through with what's in our heart.

I hope you enjoy it and it inspires you to take action and complete something that is important to you.

Collaboration With Child Hunger Sucks

With my upcoming release being all about finding our purpose in something bigger than ourselves, I decided to partner with a local charity organization called Child Hunger Sucks to help bring a life saving concert experience to homeless youth here in San Diego.

Child Hunger Sucks was founded by a young lady named Ever and she is helping to end child poverty by providing meals, mentors and miracles to homeless children . Since she started this movement she has raised over 15,000 meals and is truly making an impact within the community.

Ever and I partnered up to create T-shirts that say "AS ONE WE'LL RISE" and for every shirt sold, a portion of the proceeds will go to help feed a hungry child and provide a live concert experience.

The event is going to act as my record release and will be held at House Of Blues in downtown San Diego on August 15th.

Through this benefit concert we are bringing together a transformative experience for children full of mentorship, meals and music help bring about change in the San Diego community.

I have been super inspired by Ever's ability to take action and create change, and I know you will too.

To help support our cause and assist us in raising awareness and resources, click here to purchase one of the T-Shirts on my site.  With your purchase you will also receive a free download of my “Greater Than Self” EP at no cost.

Thank you,

Corporate Event With VSLR and Rome (Sublime With Rome)

If you read my Behind The Artist blog post then you know that before pursuing music full-time I worked in the direct sales industry. It was a very difficult yet rewarding career and not everyone is cut out for it.

One of my favorite things about those years is that I had the opportunity to be trained by some incredible leaders and as I progress throughout my music career I continue to find that the principles I learned in sales can be applied no matter what I do.

I learned how to not take rejection personally, how to lead by example and that even if 99 people aren’t interested in what you are doing, to keep pushing because its really only the 1 person who does that counts after all.

Life came around full circle when I was asked to play a corporate event for VSLR, the largest direct sales organization in the industry. That night they hired me to open for Rome Ramirez of Sublime with Rome. Sublime was always one of my influences musically so it was pretty surreal sharing the stage with him.

It's insane to think that just a year earlier I could have easily been in that room as another one of VSLR’s leaders. That night however, I felt as if I was FINALLY in the right seat. To be here was inspiring and helped affirm the leap that I had taken just a year prior to pursue my music full time.

The show went off without a hitch and I am very thankful to my friend Ty Williams for putting me in front of an audience to share my music and do what I love.

Behind The Artist, Aaron Wolf

I still remember the first time I ever heard music using headphones. I was maybe 4 or 5 years old and we were over at a family friends house.

It was getting late and I remember being bored with my parents talking with some of their friends. All I wanted to do was leave and go home. That’s when my mom (in an attempt to keep me occupied for longer so they could finish visiting) handed me a pair of headphones and said, “here Aaron, put these on and listen.”

From that second I was hooked. The way that the sound engulfed me as if I was right there next to the artists took me away to a place I hadn't been before. It felt as if the sound was alive, moving from side to side, from in front of me and behind me, and I was amazed by the fact that with headphones on it all seemed to be going on inside of my head. From that day on, I knew that I wanted to make my own music.

I learned to play guitar around the age of twelve. I found some kids in my middle school that were also into music like I was and we started a band. We went on to play for several years and played many shows but in the end we all went our separate ways.

At that point I knew I still wanted to create music and in order to pursue a career on my own, I needed to find a way to make money so I could continue funding it.

In 2009 I decided to go into direct sales because I had heard of some friends selling alarm systems and coming back home after a few short months having earned great money. My plan was to build a direct sales business, earn some good money and in turn be able to fund my  dreams of being a musician.

It took me 4 or 5 years of going through peaks and valleys to really get the hang of it. I ended up making a decent living for myself and had the ability to afford working with some really talented producers out of Atlanta whom I had met through doing the door to door gig.

The only problem was that the nature of my life was so money focused, and I was so consumed with material success and being the "best" that I never really felt like I had given my creative side a true shot. For years I went back and forth from making music for a few months, then back to knocking doors for a few months and so the story went.

Through it all I was able to build some key relationships and friendships, both in music and the world of direct sales but no matter how much money I made, it never seemed to feel like enough to truly execute my passion how I wanted. On top of that I was trading nearly all of my time to do something that didn't make me completely happy inside and before I knew it a lot of time had passed. After so many years putting money first and not loving what I was doing on the day to day, I decided to give it all up and take the leap of faith that had been calling me for over a decade.

I always thought that I needed something outside of me to make my music happen but I know now that I had everything I needed inside me all along. By following my heart and focusing on finding a way to make the music happen no matter what, I have found things falling into place and have met all the right people. I feel like I have found my sound and my debut EP Greater Than Self is set to launch August 10th.

So whether you are new here or you have been following my music from the start, I thank you for supporting me on this journey. It’s those of you whom I’ve connected with along the way that have made all the difference.

With Love,

Aaron Wolf
